From the moment you walk in the door, you feel safe and comfortable as this becomes your home. Peace and comfortable surroundings fill the air here. It is a "Home like setting" rather than a hospital setting. This aides you in being able to relax and open up your feelings and mind to rid yourself of the baggage you have been carrying for a long time.
Our focus is to provide the tools for addicts to become free from the stronghold of the addictive bonds. We offer two tracks at our program, a recovery track being spiritually based on the "Higher Power" of the traditional 12 steps programs. The Christian track emphasizes the Christian 12 steps program. We give our residents the tools that they need to reach recovery and assist them with getting on with life.
Our highly skilled multi disciplinary staff is qualified to meet your needs, spiritually, socially, physically and emotionally over a 30-60 day time frame. We also have an extended care program that allows for housing in a sober living facility.
We offer two homes separated by gender with six beds each. Our homes are located on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina, just blocks from the beach. You will receive individual attention as you travel through the 12 Steps of Recovery. In the Christian Track we use the Celebrate Recovery Bible as part of the program. We use a Christ-centered adaptation of Alcoholics Anonymous' 12 Steps to move through recovery. These 12 Steps are the process for letting God change your life.
Know that you are not alone as you reclaim who you are, not what you have become, through this disease.
At Footprints in Recovery we have a L - I - F - E approach. There are four corners to building a strong drug and alcohol rehabilitation program.
L - Living in Faith
One of the most important things you can do in deciding that you need drug and alcohol help is learning to work the 12 steps. The 12 step principles are based on a Higher Power. At times you may feel abandoned by your Higher Power or feel like you are being punished. These feelings are due to the loss of control in your life and are the consequences of addiction. Our program fosters the development of a stronger relationship with your Higher Power. Addicts learn to live a happy life and not suffer from the pain of drug and alcohol abuse in their lives. Faith based drug and alcohol programs are one of the key foundations to rebuilding your life.
I-Individual Therapy
Our individual therapy is the next cornerstone. Our therapist Jeff Jaworski LPC,LCAS,CSI is a
F-Family Therapy
The third cornerstone is dealing with the family dynamic. Here at Footprints In Recovery we believe that the families play a major role in the addicts recovery process. Our North Carolina Licensed family therapist is Barb Getchell DCSW, LCSW. Her experience includes working with the Medical Director of the
E-Education In Addiction
The final cornerstone is education in addiction. The addict learns how nutrition, coping skills, and healthy support nurtures success in recovery. Small groups are taught by our Registered Nurse, who is currently active on a nurse advisory pharmaceutical board for mental health and addiction medications. Her experience includes over 14 years in mental health and addiction recovery. She has worked for the CRC Health Group, which has the largest drug and alcohol facilities in the
