"Where there is love there is healing. Stay in the love." - Velvet Mangan
Safe Harbor is an affordable Drug and Alcohol Addiction Treatment Center for Women. We are designed for the specific needs of women in the grips of addiction and who require a licensed 90 day chemical dependency rehab.
With focus on maintaining physical and emotional sobriety through the Twelve Steps and concentration on issues unique to women such as shame, self-loathing, body distortion, codependency, and poor self esteem we reveal the root causes of alcoholism and drug addiction. The good news is that recovery and hope is available today.
Research and experience tells us women turn their addictions inward. We believe that these self - destructive behaviors are just a symptom of a woman's deep beliefs about herself. Women internalize their shame, which often leads to deep depression, suicide attempts, destructive relationship patterns and many more negative consequences. At Safe Harbor for women, we focus on maintaining physical and emotional sobriety through the Twelve Steps.
Velvet has been on the front line in the battle over addiction for more than 23 years. Her inspirational story is featured as an unsung hero in Moments of Clarity by Christopher Kennedy Lawford. Velvet's personal battle with addiction and her miraculous journey from a 15 year old homeless addict to a woman whose own recovery led her to a vision of creating a gender specific, safe haven for young women suffering from the disease of addiction. As a pioneer in the field of women's recovery and treatment, Velvet founded Safe Harbor Treatment Center for Women and has helped thousands of young women lead a sober and spiritual life.
Our staff and extended resources include qualified and experienced professionals who specialize in Drug Addiction, Alcohol Addiction, Substance Abuse, Codependency, Mental Health problems such as Anxiety and Depression, Eating Disorders, Sex & Love Addiction, and Trauma specifically for women. Our approach to alcohol and drug addiction treatment is one of emotional and spiritual depth. We believe that healing for women begins from the inside. We teach the principles of unconditional love, self-acceptance, unity, and service. We lovingly break through the barriers which keep women feeling alone and isolated. At Safe Harbor we recognize the gentleness and vulnerability of women, and we cater to that truth. Our experience shows that women grow profoundly in this atmosphere. At Safe Harbor's addiction treatment program, we begin to develop the tools that are uniquely necessary for the woman in recovery.
